PrintFlow3D DIY Kit – Build Your Own Plate Changer for A1
PrintFlow3D DIY Kit
The PrintFlow3D DIY Kit includes all non-printed components required to build your own mechanical plate changer for the Bambu Lab A1. The system is 100% mechanical – no electronics, sensors, or firmware modifications are needed. Designed for makers who want full control and a hands-on build experience, the DIY Kit allows automated multi-job printing with up to 11 plates.
The kit contains seven pre-manufactured parts, including the magnetic plate base, Bowden cable, and mounting elements, as well as a complete hardware set with screws, springs, neodymium magnets, dowel pins, and heat-set inserts. All necessary STL files for 3D printing are provided, along with the PrintFlow setup tool for STL modification and plate change integration. A detailed assembly guide is available in both PDF and video format.
To complete the build, you will need:
- 3D printing of structural components (PETG recommended)
- Soldering iron (for brass inserts)
- Hex keys (2.0 mm / 2.5 mm / 3.0 mm)
- Small hammer or press tool
- Adhesive suitable for PETG (e.g. UHU Allplast or 2-part epoxy)
All DIY Kits support up to 11 print plates.
The only difference between variants is how many plates can be equipped right away.
Each higher kit includes additional mounting hardware for more plates – no need to source parts later.
Includes STL file to modify your own Bambu Lab plates – no drilling needed. Just print, clamp, and go.
